Smile AT&T HTC Fuze Throttle Lock Issues

Hey all...

I have been using Throttle Lock for a while now on an AT&T HTC Fuze.

Here are the issues I have found and hope it helps make this a better application!!

Edit: I was using 0.6 and just installed 0.7. Will update when I have used it a bit... :P

1. When phone is locked and the keyboard is slid out to go into horizontal mode, you have to enter the pattern twice to unlock the device.
2. During a phone call, the phone locks and you have to unlock it in order to use the keypad. This is an issue when I am on an automated phone system and need to press buttons. Can there be a setting that allows us to keep the phone from locking during a phone call?
3. I have mine set to auto-lock (lock on start-up). When I have to reboot my phone (soft-reset), the device locks, as expected, however, when locked, it prevents the TouchFlo 3D from starting up until the device is unlocked.

Those are the ones I found so far, but honestly, if those are the only 3 issues I have after using this for a few weeks, I can't complain. None of those issues prevent me from using the phone, just more functuional issues. :P

Thanks for a great product!!!

Well, I have found a few issues with the v0.7 already... Here is what I have:

Now, I have not tested issues listed above yet, I will get to that, this is mainly for the Config application for Throttle Lock...

Hardware:

AT&T HTC Fuze
Default ROM

1. When launching the config application, it loads much slower.
2. The Grid X and Y size does not default to the current configuration.
3. ALL of the drop down boxes do not display correctly and makes it very difficult to select any options.
4. Idle time before lock - Does not default to current value unless it is set to 0.
5. Idle time before lock - What time span is that setting in? Minutes or Seconds? (Figured this one out, Minutes)
6. When I hit the power button to put my device in Hibernate, it does not lock when I resume the device. Got this figured out too with the above setting. It is set to 0 now and locks as expected.
7. When resuming the phone, it shows the loading wheel before I can unlock the phone. 0.6 was instant and did not have to load, this happens with the 3D Eye Tracking on or off. (Edit: This happens only after on the first time it unlocked after exiting the config app)

This is a pretty big re-write from 0.6, when can we expect updated documentation for the new config settings and interface?

One other. The calendar item pop-up says "Next Sppointment".

It is also a bit slow on the 3D effect on my Touch Diamond.

Otherwise, very exciting update!

UPDATE

Currently using 0.7

Issue 1 still exists, need to unlock twice when going into landscape mode from a locked phone. There is a delay when going into landscape mode and unlocking.

Repro Steps:

Have phone locked
Slide Keyboard out and enter Landscape Mode
Enter Pattern to unlock
Wait 3 seconds
Enter Pattern again to unlock

Issue 2 is resolved.

Issue 3 still persists.

Thank you very much!

You're right... seems I have some spelling issues myself .. you can correct that eassyly in the texts.txt file . I've already solved it for further releases....

Please if you have some time test the attached skin to see if it speeds 3d effect a little bit...

Thanks!

Hi!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback . and sorry for the delay in answering.... For the settings issue, please download and install the cab available from the web again. I have added a minor release 0.7.1 with that fixed.

For the other issues, you're right in the landscape thing, I've been able to reproduce it on my Omnia . For the number 3, I think it's a Touchflo3D "issue", I mean, today screen don't start sending messages to it's plugins until it's painted for the first time... Same thing happens to ThrottleLauncher for example .

Thanks again for the feedback!

My pleasure on the detailed feedback and no problem on taking some time to respond. We're all busy people here... :P

I'll download and install 0.7.1 and see what happens later today. Stupid meetings are taking up a lot of "play time" on my phone. :P

Ok, installed 0.7.1 and here is what I have for you all... :P

Issue 1 is still happening
Issue 2 - This issue seems to be resolved with 0.7
Issue 3 - This issue seems to be resolved with 0.7.1 (It loaded TF23D just fine when I installed and did a soft reset. 0.7 still stalled the TF3D launch... Hmmm... )

Hrm... All in all... so far... Issues I have had with this seems to be... Well... Resolved (Except issue 1 in the top list...) !!!

Awesome!!!!

Another minor issue.

I upgraded from 0.7 to 0.7.1

I uninstalled 0.7 - Went into the device\program files and made sure the ThrottleLock folder was gone

Installed TL 0.7.1

Copied my License File

Set my configuration settings

Soft Reset

Issue: When my phone's backlight turns off, it does not lock on resume.

What I found was that the timer setting was set to 0

I set it to 1 and saved

Set it back to 0 and saved

Now it works as expected.

Thanks!

Default Fix??

Hi Talderon, i was wondering what you did to resolve the issue of the phone locking during calls?

I am having an issue in which my phone is locking while i am on a call, in order to access the keypad again i have to unlock the phone so you can imagine this is a pain. i have played with different settings and still no success.

here are some notes about my setup:
  • Stock WM 6.1 ROM
  • Throttle lock .7.1 ( i am not 100% on this since the about screen in settings still says 0.7)
  • I still have my light sensor enabled as i perfer the screen to cut off when i hold the phone to my face

Hey, I wrote the following Wiki page to help out with configuration:

http://www.throttlelauncher.com/wiki..._Configuration

For what you are wanting, this is the part you need to know:

When incoming call

Drop down list:

Quote:
Lock - Will lock/retain lock on phone when there is an incoming call
Unlock - Will unlock the phone when there is an incoming call
Do Nothing - Will retain whatever lock state is current when there is an incoming call
Hope this helps.
